December Gallery Project

I cannot believe December is here already. Like, it was JUST Halloween. Where on Earth did November go? Anyway, it's SOMEHOW time to swap out our family gallery projects. For more info on our Family Art Gallery, check out my previous post about what it is and how it came to be. So down came our gratitude turkeys and up went our Christmas capybaras! Our family has always loved capybaras, as part of my husband's family hails from Latin America, where capybaras live. We were beyond delighted when capys suddenly became trendy and were everywhere! Never did I ever think I would have access to so much cute capybara clipart, but here we are. I created 4 coloring pages in Canva, then duplicated each of them to add red and green borders. Since our gallery goes in age order, with everyone always using the same frame to display their art each month, I wanted to create a pattern with the borders. So the guys chose designs with red borders and my daughter and I selected the others but with green borders. So we each chose a different design and they are displayed with borders red, green, red, green.

The project was quick and easy to do together as a family. No mess! And now we have something to add to our holiday decor. The frames are upstairs where pretty much only our family goes, so I never have to worry about how they turn out. They are just for us. That's why I didn't mind a series of whimsical Christmas capybaras. And I think they turned out pretty cute!
If you're interested in seeing more about our projects, I have started doing monthly reels on my Instagram account. We'd love for you to join us!
